You know what this book needed? MORE ROMANCE! No, I’m kidding! There was plenty enough romance, even if the tone did get a lot more serious. I missed the easy-going days of overprotective Josef and playful Gabe. I hate to admit it but I even miss delicate Peri; she was just so cute I wanted to eat her up or squeeze her tight and never let go! I usually talk down to female leads who do nothing and are ignorant in novels, but I actually really liked Peri’s innocence and purity. Sigh, they grow up so fast and become raging sex monsters… KIDDING! sort of…
After the murder of her mentor and only friend, Peri decides she wants to do something about it. She wants revenge against the father that wronged her and wants him to pay for all the hurt and torture he’s caused. But aside from the blood lust, Peri is in love with her vampire, Josef, and wolf, Gabe, who are just as anxious as she is to mate and become one for eternity. Peri will get her revenge, but first she has to train, learn to control her magic and manage to remember that life isn’t about revenge; it’s about living the life with the people you love the most.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the sequel to The Witch, The Wolf and The Vampire. The book picks up right where the first one left off. On their way home, from the crime scene, and Peri anxious to be mated. But Josef and Gabe who are such good mates and lovers have other plans and are more concerned with her well-being than mating with her. Isn’t that sweet?
The tone of the story remained the same but the action and excitement picked up a lot around the middle. Peri finally gets mated, and from that grows a little into her sexuality, which I think is sort of nice. She was adorable as a shy, innocent thing, but she became fierce, beautiful and even a little dangerous when she knew what she wanted from her mates. It was pretty sexy, maybe even a little scary.
“Come to me, Peri.” Gabe moaned, reached up and pulled her down, so that she lay over his body and her neck was near his huge canines. It also put her into the optimum position for Josef, which they were used to, both having shared many women in the past.
Josef and Gabe as always were perfect. Just the perfect fantasy. Two guys, one girl, who doesn’t secretly dream about that? But seriously, am I the only one who secretly dreams about that? Please don’t let me be the only one cause that would be weird… TWO HOT GUYS LAVISHING YOU!? How could you not want that? Josef is just so attentive and comforting while Gabe is just so playful and warm. Thank god they don’t have jealousy problems or that would be a nightmare.
Book two definitely picked up towards the end which was nice, I just wish there was a bit more excitement, even some more sexy time with our fearsome three-some HA! But if you like the supernatural or paranormal and you like romance and want to live out your fantasies with a vampire and a werewolf you should definitely read this series. I’m anticipating what’s coming up in book three and what’s going to happen with Peri, Josef and Gabe.
